Canine Hydrotherapy is more than just swimming. It uses the properties of heated water to aid in recovery following surgery or injury as well being beneficial for dogs with chronic mobility issues including arthritis. It is a great way to exercise elderly dogs and dogs needing to lose weight, increasing fitness while reducing pressure on their joints.
Can't I just take my dog swimming in a lake or river?
We definitely recommend that you don't - at least not for rehabilitation purposes. Hydrotherapy treatment should take place in warm water. In cold water, the blood flow through some blood vessels will be restricted, making the muscles they supply work less effectively. Cold water also increases he chance of sudden cramp an discomfort.

The emphasis of our classes is for the DOG to be having FUN doing what comes naturally in a relaxed environment.
There is no previous dog training experience required for you or your dog, so our classes are open to all dogs, big or small. There is no dog to dog interaction so it is also suitable for shy, fearful, anxious or reactive dogs and it can even help them to become more confident.
All dogs love to sniff, so come and learn how your dog can have fun being a pet sniffer dog. In K9 Nose Work® we take advantage of your dogs natural searching instincts while you learn to understand how they see the world through their very sensitive nose as you become their scent detection partner.
